Thanks so much for all of your comments on this site. We read all the new ones this morning during our devotion time. It's great to get news and words of encouragement from everyone back home. God has blessed us here with good weather and fellowship.
After our first week of work, what a joy it was this morning to see the crane place two floor panels on the foundation this morning. By noon several of us were on the floor getting ready to put up the first walls. We had another rain storm yesterday (Sunday) so the sight was muddy today, but not enough to hinder the work. The sun is out again this morning and it is heating up. It seems a bit cooler or we're just getting used to it.
On Saturday we had a welcomed day off from the work. It was a much needed day of rest as many of us were very tired from the week of heat and work. We went to a man-made lake and were able to cool down with a swim. The beach was simply clay with some small rocks along the shore line -- not the sandy beach we're used to in Michigan. We enjoyed a picnic lunch and time together. After leaving the lake, we went into town and toured some of the shops. One is named "Texas" -- a large grocery store.
On Sunday morning we had the honor of being able to witness baptisms at the Yenesey River. One member of the host family for Roy, Chris and Jerry decided to be baptised. It was quite an experience to see commitments to Christ made on the shores of this mighty river which runs from Mongolia to the Artic Sea. We have heard so many stories of the power of Christ to transform people from lives of addiction and depression to lives of service and joy in Christ. The church here in Lesosibirsk is truly providing hope to many who have lost hope.
After the baptisms, we worshiped with church members at the community center (the power was out so we were in the dark except for sunlight coming through the doors). Pastor Jerry gave the message with his translator which went well. (Jerry can now say he preached in Siberia.) We also heard a message from another pastor who is holding a tent revival in a small town about 45 minutes north of here (the Lesosibirsk officials would not give them a permit to hold the event so they went to the next town). Our team also sang three songs for the congregation: "Amazing Grace", "Power in the Blood" and "In Christ Alone". What an amazing experience to hear some sing along with us in Russian.
We had to leave the community center promptly after the service so the Jahovah Witnesses (JWs as they call them here) could use the facility. This is another reason this church building is important -- to give the Lesosibirsk church its own identity. Some see us, as we leave the building with the JWs going in, and think we are part of the JWs.
Sunday afternoon was more time relaxing with our host families. Some were able to tour the Orthodox Church -- a massive brick building on the river.
Stomach ailments continue with some team members. Dale was running a fever on Saturday and stayed at his host family home to rest. Kristen is at her host home today (Monday) feeling sick and tired. We think it is a combination of all the change we experienced in time zone, food, heat and even culture. Continue to pray for our health and that we get the rest we need to finish the week strong. Your prayers are very evident and greatly appreciate.
I apologize for not having photos to update the site. I forgot the camera. We have to travel from the work site to Pastor Roma's home to get Internet access -- one of the few places that have it. We hope to update everything on Wednesday.

I'm glad the weather is getting better and that you were able to get some time to rest! I hope everyone gets to feeling better quickly. It sounds like you're making lots of progress and that you are making a huge difference over there. What a gift to be used by God in something that touches so many lives! Mom, we love you and miss you and can't wait for you to get back-and we're still getting along great. Derrick, Ash, and Keaton send their love too. From the way Ashley looks, you shouldn't have to worry about missing the baby being born. Love, Trista
Wow...what a moving message you left for us! Sounds like things are right on schedule or even further along, God is good!! I heve a message from D.L. Moody that I would like to share with you all. THE EYES OF THE WORLD ARE UPON US. THEY DON'T READ THE BIBLE, BUT THEY READ YOU AND ME AND WE TALK MORE BY OUR WALK THAN IN ANY OTHER WAY. WE ARE 'LIVING EPISTLES, KNOWN AND READ OF ALL MEN'. What a powerful statement! (Walk On!) What an awesome privelage to be used to further God's Kingdom! We love you all and pray for healing, strength and most of all...A CLOSER WALK WITH THEE!
The song "What a friend we have in Jesus just came to mind" (why not sing it) :)
Look forward to your updates and hey, Marlin said to tell Joe that Bev is O.K., he has gotten her a new stash of BON-BONs!(Joe can explain)
1 Thes. 5:16 Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus AMEN
Love In Christ, The Millers
Good morning or maybe I should be saying Good evening...Thanks for sharing with us! What a powerful testimony to see God's hand working in the lives of the church in Lesosibirsk through a baptism. Steps of obedience! 1 John 5:3-5 It is good to hear progress is continuing on the building!!!!! Who knew heat would be an issue for all of you. It made me think of our trip to Mexico...has Rod shared his "you need to drink lots of water message"? Rod, I hope you are drinking lots of water!!!! We will continue to lift all of you up for renewed strength, healing of the body and much needed rest. Love from your team at MRCCC!
Kristen, I am proud of you for staying back and resting, I know that took more strength for you than all of the construction work. Keep resting and enjoy the "Babushka's" care, that's not something you get every day. Dad, I miss you, glad to hear you are keeping a good journal. Spock says hello. :) We're praying for you, prayer is the technology that transcends all internet connections.
Last night I was reading how God went to all this trouble to get Joseph's bones out of Egypt and into the promised land, Joseph's "home," just like He promised. If he can do all that just for a bunch of bones, He'll get you, living, breathing servants of God, home too!

love to all of you! God is so good in putting each of us where we need to be. It is a growing experience for me here as well, and He is faithful! We have been supported and cared for here by our church family. I think we are all experiencing God's love in new and exciting ways!
Kristen, please take care of yourself! I am praying for your health- and thinking all those "mom things".
Chris, hopefully all the back e mails have made it to you now.
The time is going quickly, but also crawling by slowly at the same time.
I pray that all of you would be "in the moment" and not missing home so much that you miss seeing God over there.
love-Joanne
We have been looking forward to all of your messages. They have been a blessing to us. It's wonderful to read and picture in our minds all that has been accoumplished in Jesus name while you have been working there. The exciting thing is that you all now can look forward to seeing all of those who will be in glory because of this effort on your part. As Bonnie said, the twelve hour difference makes it easy to pray for you time wise. At night I pray for you as you day is just starting and in the morning I pray for a good nights rest and the knowledge that Jahovah Shalom is with you. My prayers are with the whole team. God Bless you all, keep you safe and heal those who are ailing. Jerry, we had a wonderful time with Bonnie and the kids. It was great spending extended time with them. It went too fast. Love, Mom Griffin
Kim and Rod,
We have replied to your e-mails but apparently it has not been reaching you. Everyone is doing well here and I hope this post on the blog helps put your mind at ease. Caleb read the first e-mail to Fran and Beth the day we received it. In one of the e-mails I sent our e-mail address so you could e-mail directly instead of routing through Joanne. I'm sorry you have not received our words of love and encouragement. Hope our comments on the blog have assured your hearts that we are praying for you and you are on our minds daily. Caleb e-mailed earlier and hopefully you will receive it the next time you check your e-mail. If not, please know that he is well as is Beth. Caleb is being very responsible and is keeping very busy. Beth is enjoying her time at Fran's and all the animals are fine as well. Bill Friesen called earlier in the week to check on you both and I gave him the internet link so he could visit the update site as well. The most recent e-mail we received encouraged using the blog if we were having a difficult time reaching you by e-mail so that your mind could be put at ease. Hoping this news helps.
Hi You All!
You are on the home stretch!! Yea! This is your final week. I can imagine that it will be bittersweet. The Lord has been so good to us and to you all. What a smaller world one creates when a friend is made halfway around it. I bet the host families are enjoying you people.
Isn't it just like our enemy to want what God has and even use the same building that God is worshipped in to have his "worship"? Roy, I trust you have a greater vocabulary of Russian now, dah? Also Roy, we had the Vet out today to look at a cow and it was Russ who came. I told him that you have changed your thoughts about the farm and that it was God's farm and everything that happened on it was in God's control. You know I think he almost squirmed alittle thinking that he had just diagnosed and worked on GOD'S cow! \"/ Things continue to go very well, and Derek is doing a great job. Thanks to you all for praying.
We pray and think of you guys without ceasing. Nan has done such a great job letting all who want to know what is going on, know. Jerry, you have a very good secretary who loves and prays for you much! Kristen and Dale, hope you feel better soon! PS.84 please read!
Love K
It has been a blessing to read the blogs. Thank-you for the updates. We miss you all very much. We pray and think of each one of you daily. It is so awesome to hear that God's kingdom is growing because of you all. We are continuing to pray for your health, strength and rest. Dale and Kristen, hope you both get feeling better soon.
God Bless and Love from,
Brown's.
Hi!!! Just wanted to encourage all of you during the last few days you are there. You have shown us all what it means to be available and obedient to God's will. Yeah!!! Is 26:3 - Keep your focus on Him! Will the Wed posting be the last blog? Or do you have plans for another as time permits? Kim, I spoke to Beth on Monday and made plans for connecting on the 30th. It sounds like Beth & Fran are having a good time. Continued prayers for your requests and joys. Love to all from your sibs - Bubba and Nanette
Kim -- Just letting you know that Caleb sent off a third e-mail to you today. He is planning to chat with Beth this afternoon when he finishes mowing the lawn. I will post after he contacts her to give you another update. Hope you are seeing God move in mighty ways and your faith is being increased daily. Can't wait to hear about all your encounters with the Great I AM. Love, Bunny
Thanks so much for this blog. We have really enjoyed reading of all that is happening. Our thoughts are with you.
Love, Grandpa Roy and Grandma Marilyn(Thelen in laws)

Psalm 37:23
If the Lord delights in a man's way, He makes his steps firm; though he stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with His hand.
The Lord does delight in your way. Even though satan is putting everything in your path he can think of to get you all to stumble - work visa's, homesick, feeling ill, etc. - remember it is not a mistake or coincidence that you all are there. It was in the plan of our big "G" God and he will uphold you with His hand!
We are praying for you!
Love ~ Matt, Deb, John and Hope
